Blessed is the man whose strength is in Thee
and in whose heart are Thy ways
Passing through the valley of weeping
they make it a spring
the rain also covers it with blessings
This morning, thinking, once again, upon these verses, I am made conscious of the need to have our hearts filled with the knowledge of God's ways. Elsewhere, in Scripture, we are reminded that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts; in fact His ways are in the sea and in the wilderness; and many times are found in valleys of deep darkness and weeping.
The mystery of God is this, as we pass through our valleys, which are under the shadow of death, the tears that we shed in those overwhelmingly dark times transform the valleys into sources of spring water and places of blessing.
The refreshing does not have its origin in us; it is the Lord who is the source of the refreshing. Oh the mystery of God Who chooses to reveal Himself in earthen vessels, that the glory is directed towards Him, and not to us.
