Obedience and the Bride of Christ

God deals with men and nations on the basis of covenant. To enjoy the benefits of God's covenants, there is required obedience to the conditions of such covenants. Disobedience results, eventually, in covenant sanctions.

Who then is the True Bride of Christ?

When natural Israel was covenantally obedient, she was the wife (bride) of God: Isaiah 54:5,6; Jeremiah 2:2; Ezekiel 16:32; and Hosea 1:2. God disowned a disobedient natural Israel, who He divorsed and rejected as His wife (bride): Jeremiah 3:8; Hosea 2:2. An obedient church (made up of both believing Jew and Gentile) is now the wife (bride) of God: 2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 5:31,32.

The New Covenant provides the resources to enable obedience, where previous covenants did not. There is no racial distinctions in the New Covenant; the church is made up of all true believers in Jesus Christ, irrespective of race, and this is the true Bride of Christ.
