Churchmen more holy than God

‘Can a mortal be more righteous than God? Can a man be more pure than his Maker? (Job 4:17)

Very often this rhetorical question is answered in the affirmative by churchmen, especially those who consider God's Law to be archaic. Doctor Francis McNab, Executive Minister of St Michael's Uniting Church in Collins Street, Melbourne, is one of those churchmen who believes he is more righteous than God and more pure than his Maker (*); so much so, that Dr McNab has launched a new faith for the 21st Century, because the Old Faith no longer works, in his opinion. Dr McNab not only is launching a new faith, but he has created a new god, a presence both within and beyond us that we strive for. He has stated that "the Ten Commandments is the most negative document ever written;" he has called Jesus Christ 'just a Jewish peasant, who is not the Son of God;' he believes that Abraham is merely a concoction; and Moses was a hypocritical mass murderer. All this is in contradiction to the Word of the Living God who declares: that Jesus is the Christ and is God incarnate (God and man in one person, but with two distinct natures, yet inseparable), and all who deny this Truth are antichrists and liars (I John 2:18-23); that Abraham is the father of all who believe (Romans 4:11); and finally that Moses was the most meek of men who have ever lived (Numbers 12:3).

The God of the Scriptures, the Triune God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - says that such churchmen as Dr McNab are fools: "The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." (Psalm 53:1). However, the Uniting Church Synod is also foolish, because it did not excommunicate Dr McNab when he first commenced expounding his heresies. The denomination will suffer because it has failed to negatively sanction the covenant-breaking Dr McNab. The city of Melbourne will suffer, because Dr McNab's heresies will be spread by those who attend his services; and the True church of Melbourne will also suffer as it holds to the Truth against the growing lie.

Now is the time to raise the standard of the Faith as once delivered by the Holy Apostles and Prophets. Lord, raise up ministries that will clearly trumpet the Truth; the Truth which the Word of God calls a sharp two-edged sword which [is] alive, and powerful, and which can pierce even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [which is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).
