A Song of Ascents.1 Blessed is every one who fears the LORD,
Who walks in His ways.
2 When you eat the labor of your hands,
You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.
3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine
In the very heart of your house,
Your children like olive plants
All around your table.
4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed
Who fears the LORD.
5 The LORD bless you out of Zion,
And may you see the good of Jerusalem
All the days of your life.
6 Yes, may you see your children’s children.
Peace be upon Israel!
Just before my wife and I were married, I had a dream, and in that dream I saw a very large table, and around that table were children of all different racial descent.
My wife and I were not able to have children of our own. We did not know that before we were married.
Over our 28 years of married life, our home has been open to many young people from many nations around the world. We have adopted two children from the Philippines, we have had live with us young people from: Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore, and have had in our home Warlpiri, Maldivians, Japanese, French, Thai, Sudanese, Nigerians, Fijians and young people from PNG.
Our table has been the focus of interaction with all these young people, a place for celebrating birthdays, religious festivals, singing songs, talking about serious issues of life, tutoring in English and above all else, reading the Bible with a short exposition.
It is amazing how accurate God's Word to us can be, but how utterly unlike what our projected thoughts are.
God is God. His Word is True. He will do, whatsover He pleases in Heaven and on earth, and none shall stand in His way.
