Think upon the Lovingkindness of the Lord

9 We have thought, O God, on Your lovingkindness, In the midst of Your temple. (Psalm 48:9)

Last night I sat with a small group of young adults, and together we thought upon the the lovingkindness of the Lord. I felt so blessed and honoured to have them gather in my home. Jesus said, "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." The truth and reality of this statement was manifested in the gathering of godly young people in our home. My heart was filled with such affection towards them, and such a desire to see them move on in their walk with the Lord. Their youth and enthusiasm, their spontaneity and openness exuded life and energy.

In the midst of the temple of the Lord, which is the gathering of God's faithful people in whatever location or context they find themselves, the lovingkindness of the Lord is revealed. It is our pleasure to recognise His lovingkindesses and to think upon them. Such meditation will spur us on to love Him more and more, in ever increasing waves of affection. Praise the God who loved us, even when we were His enemies; who gave His only Begotten Son that we might become His children; who has freely given us all things, and blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places, in and through His wonderful, glorious Son, even our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen!
