The Triune God is Absolutely in Control

I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, ... and I blessed the Most High and praised and honoured Him who lives forever: For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom is from generation to generation. All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven And among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand Or say to Him, “What have You done?” (Daniel 4:34-35) ... the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men, and appoints over it whomever He chooses. (Daniel 5:21)

God's foreknowledge of all things is determinative. Absolutely everything that comes to pass is ordained by the Triune God in His determinative council. He Providentially orchestrates all things towards His infallibly determined will. Yet, God is not the author of sin. However, even the sins of fallen creatures are secondarily included in the pre-ordained will of God.

This is a mystery. John Piper has declared this mystery far more eloquently than I would ever be able to. His e-book: "Spectacular Sins" is freely available, and should be read by all.

I never seen to be utterly amazed and blown away that one of the most concise and eloquent expressions of the absolute sovereignty and reign of Almighty God came from the lips (and heart) of a pagan king brought to his knees.

How many Christians today don't know, let alone believe, 10% of what Nebuchadnezzar spoke.
