Have the mind of Christ
... that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:4-8)
The mind of the Holy Spirit is of the same mind as Christ, and the mind of the Holy Spirit is set on the "righteous requirements of the law." If we are to have the mind of Christ, then we need to think His thoughts after Him. It is the Holy Spirit who teaches us the thoughts of Christ, and these are taught through the law of God, as recorded in the Bible.
If we are to be spiritual, then we are to be found meditating in God's law day and night. The enemy of God is a carnal mind, and such a mind is not subject to the law of God, and such a mind cannot please God.
The mind of Christ ranges all of life, in every context. If we truly have the mind of Christ, then our thoughts will be relevant to every situation in this life, and we will be properly fit for the life to come.
