Q & A Compromise: Our Salvation is in the Lord

The Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our Lawgiver, the Lord is our King; He will save us. (Isaiah 33:22)

I have just finished watching Tony Abbott give a convincing performance, convincing me that there is nothing that can be gained by trusting in politics or politicians. Our only hope is to trust in the Lord God.

Several times Tony Abbott capitulated when asked important questions on the Q & A program this evening. He capitulated when asked about the recognition of homosexual marriages; he capitulated when asked about his personal faith and its part in the process of political decision making.

The questioners revealed how far our nation has moved from its Biblical Christian heritage.

I have no trust in politicians, no matter what political persuasion. My trust is in the Lord Jesus Christ. He, and He alone, is the Saviour.

Somewhat disappointed by this blog. I know where you are coming from but you seem to have retreated into the pessimillenialist 'All politics are bums!' school of theology.

I would contend, rather, that (as has been said of Cornelius Van Til) it is better for someone like Abbott to have his compromised fingers in the dike, holding back the deluge, until such a time that Christian Reconstructionists have produced a more Godly, Law-based dike. One should be careful of praying too fervently just for the Apocalypse in its modern usage. Yes, by all means place your faith only in Christ, but also work (as I know you do) to raise up Christian politicians.
